Data Snack: Want to Win?

Parts of Maricopa County simply don’t have the same resources as those of us in LD3. Residents are working families, sometimes with multiple jobs. While always electing Democrats in local races, people in these very blue districts are less inclined to turnout to vote.

Imagine if Democrats who had 50% turnout in 2022 had our turnout of 82%. *

That would be a huge ask, but what if we just move the needle 2-3%. That’s enough additional Democratic votes to win for our county candidates and to push Harris/Walz across the finish line.

MCDP’s Turnout Improvement Project (TIP) is not a panacea. It’s a lift for our blue districts by scaling up some of our own successful work.

We need your help. Twenty percent of the ballot guides for TIP are being mailed. Our generous volunteers have been helping with that. But 100,000 doors are being Lit Dropped. Not a canvass where you talk to a voter at their door, but simply dropping the literature at each door. The turfs average 60 doors, sometimes including every door on a street. The work goes fast and we’ve already received calls from voters who love receiving our guides.

The four LDs have their own volunteers participating, but there aren’t enough of them. We’ve asked every local legislator, city council candidate and school board candidate to take on some turfs and send their volunteers to help. It’s still not enough.

MCDP needs 18 people a day to deliver literature. The TIP districts are a bit of a drive from anywhere in LD3, so bring a friend or two. Sign up for a day. Make a difference. You might meet a legislator or two on your way. Check out our mobilize links below.

Do Something.

*Presidential year turnout by Democrats in TIP districts was in the low 70%. LD3 was 91%.
