Maricopa County has 57 School Districts, each with elected non-partisan governing boards. In 2024 there will be 157 School Board openings.

We have 4 types of Public Schools in Arizona.
Areas with a Union High School District will have multiple Elementary Districts. This causes some very complex ballots for voters. LD3 has 5 school districts with elections. Some of our county Legislative Districts have more than 10. LD25, with barely over half the number of county voters as LD3, has 12 school districts.
